Por qué es necesario cortar las uñas de tu mascota?

Hola a Tod@s! Espero que estén pasando un día lindo con tu mascot@! Hoy queremos hablarles sobre las uñas de nuestras mascotas, debido a que algunos no le damos la importancia que se merece, muchas veces como dueños de mascotas nos preguntamos que tipo de cuidado requieren las uñas de nuestros peludos compañeros, ¿es necesario córtalas a menudo? pues les cuento que que uñas largas y descuidadas podrían afectar a tu mascota y provocarles problemas en las almohadilla, puede afectar la marcha natural de tu perro y provocarla dolor e incomodidad por lo tanto esta recomendado entre los cuidados rutinarios de perros y gatos el aseo de cortarle los pelos de las almohadillas (ya que se puede meter entre ellas pequeños arbustos y/o espigas, se le pueden hacer nudos los cuales le irritan su piel y pueden enredarse con las uñas en caso de ser muy largas), lavarlas y el corte de las uñas.

                                

    Normalmente con la marcha y las actividades diarias en los parques y aceras los perros suelen limar sus uñas por lo tanto el que mas crece es el espolón (uña posterior) que tiene un riesgo mayor de encarnarse en la almohadilla debido a su crecimiento circular y podría provocarle infecciones y heridas (en este caso hay que estar pendiente de los gatos también ya que ellos no pueden afilar su espolón y he visto casos de uñas encarnadas de espolón en gatos) .Mientras antes se empiece con el corte y cuidado de las uñas de tu mascota mas fácil sera realizarlo, la manera ideal es introducirlo cuando son cachorros de manera de juego, frases cariñosas y premios para que tenga asociación positiva y no se contruya un trauma con el cuidado de sus uñas ya que es muy común ver el miedo de que le corten las uñas. 

    Se debe observar la velocidad de crecimiento de las uñas, cuando es muy rápido podría representar una alarma de algún problema de salud de tu mascota por ejemplo: (Leishamnia) es una enfermedad cutánea causada por la picadura de un mosquito.
